The Cognitive Network and Green Communication Laboratory was established by Zhejiang University and York University

During April 12th -13th, Chancellor Brian Cantor from York University visited Zhejiang University. President Wei Yang signed the “cognitive network and green communication laboratory” agreement with him.
In wireless communication, cognitive network and green communication is a new type of hot research. The cognitive network is related to the fifth generation broadband mobile communication technology, which get the intelligent control and artificial intelligence involved in wireless communication, while the green communication is focused on the energy efficient improvement in broadband mobile communication and mobile internet. Department of Information Science & Electronic Engineering started the research quite early and made the influential achievements in the field.
The academic leader in the communication and network from York University was appointed as the British Director of the cognitive network and green communication laboratory, Prof. Honggang Zhang as the Chinese Director. Both of the Universities will cooperate on research and talent training. It is said that the two universities will hold the international symposium in both York University and Zhejiang University during September and October this year.
President Wei Yang welcomed Chancellor Brian Cantor’s visit. He said that the higher education internationalization was a tendency and the cooperation between universities became essential. Zhejiang University was willing to cooperate with such a high level university as York. Chancellor Brian Cantor expressed the same desire to impel the international intercourse in advanced disciplines.
