The Delegation from McMaster University Visited Graduate School of Zhejiang University

On November 29, 2010, a delegation from McMaster University, Canada, visited graduate school of Zhejiang University, including professor Allison B. Sekuler, Associate Vice-President and Dean of Graduate Studies, professor M.W.Luke Chan, Associate Vice-President. Our Vice-Provost and Executive Dean of Graduate School, Professor Yan Jianhua extended warm welcome to the guests on behalf of the University. Professor Wang Li, Deputy Director of International Relations Office also attended the meeting.
Professor Yan briefed the guests on the development of ZJU and its wide exchange and cooperation with overseas counterparts. He also expressed the wishes to promote and deepen the exsiting cooperation between ZJU and McMaster University. Professor Allison showed the same interest. Both sides explored the possibilities of joint programs, such as summer school, exchange of teaching and research staff members etc.
After discussed the cooperation and exchange issues, both sides signed an agreement. The Agreement of Cooperation is mainly about the CSC programme. Each year Zhejiang University will nominate a maximum of 10 excellent Ph.D. CSC candidates to enroll at McMaster University. The CSC will provide living expenses, and McMaster University will provide funding to cover the annual tuition for up to four years of study.
