On March 17th, seminar of higher education cooperation between China and Germany opened in Hangzhou. More than 60 experts from China and Germany attended, and they will implement the new tasks of “National Long-term Plan for Development and Reform of Education” in the context of globalization and discuss to create a new mode of international education in Sino-German cooperation and communication. Wei Yang, President of Zhejiang University, addressed the opening ceremony of the seminar. In his speech, said Wei Yang, Chinese and German university co-educational seminar indicated the spring of international cooperation and exchanges between the two countries’ universities had come. Recent years, great changes have taken place on the international exchange and cooperation of Chinese universities: to turn the virtual to the reality, to spread the point to the surface, to get the dispersion to the centralization and to collect the tributary to the main flow. Wei Yang also gave a brief introduction of marine exploration status in Zhejiang University, hoping for further exchanges and cooperation with German universities in the area. “In the field of international cooperation of higher education, Sino-German cooperation is very important. In addition to learn each other’s language, exchanges in the field of scientific research are more significant.” said Matthias Hack, the Counselor of German Embassy. The seminar is organized by the Ministry of Education and the German Academic Exchange Service jointly, while Zhejiang University is the assistant organizer. DAAD is an important partner the Ministry of Education, and it has a good cooperation on high-level personnel training, exchange of scholars and teachers and exchange of scholarships with Ministry of Education. The seminar will also sort out the overall situation of the present projects of bilateral cooperation, re-plan and re-design the direction and content of future cooperation. |
