From April29th to May 6th, 2019, a exchange group of PhD students, including 10 PhDcandidates and 3 teachers of Zhejiang University, visited Stanford Universityand Silicon Valley enterprises to experience and explore how innovation andentrepreneurship are nurtured and optimized.

Withina week, the exchange group attended the theme lectures on innovation andentrepreneurship between China and the United States and a series of lectureson entrepreneurial thought of leaders at Stanford University. The exchangegroup participated in the 2019 Stanford China Entrepreneurship Forum and the2nd Global Future Innovation Summit in the Z-park Silicon Valley Center.Accompanied by alumni, they visited Google, Apple, Facebook and otherwell-known innovative companies in Silicon Valley. At Zhejiang UniversitySilicon Valley Research Institute, they participated in the lecture given byDean Xue. They also visited Plug and Play and Centrillion Technologies with alumni,and had an in-depth communication with them.

This visityielded a lot of experience, broadened students’ international perspective, andrevealed the differences between China and the United States in the field ofinnovation and entrepreneurship, providing valuable suggestions for thedevelopment of innovation and entrepreneurship in China.
